Our Story

The story of Círculo de Amigas (Circle of Friends) is the story of how one woman's resolve to teach a group of rural Nicaraguan women to sew has grown to encompass much more than just clothing bodies. Today Círculo is improving health; stimulating minds; building homes; empowering communities; and even saving the rain forest!

In early 2005, Círculo found a new sponsoring organization in Centro de Estudios y Promoción Social (CEPS), a Nicaraguan social service agency. Like Círculo, CEPS works to promote an increased self reliance among local community members such that the community is increasingly capable of improving its own health and prosperity.
